This Privacy Policy explains what information QUANTIFY ("we") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

• Account information: your email address and a securely hashed password (or, if you sign in with Google, your verified Google email address).
• Product data you create: saved portfolio tickers, price alerts, and display preferences (theme, language, default strategy).
• Basic usage data: IP address and request timestamps, used only for security purposes such as rate-limiting login and signup attempts.

2. How We Use Information

We use this information to operate your account, send transactional emails (email verification, password reset codes, price alerts), generate the AI commentary you request, and keep the Service secure and reliable.

3. Third-Party Services We Use

• Groq — processes ticker/price/technical data to generate AI commentary. We do not send your name, email, or account details to Groq.
• Brevo — sends transactional emails (verification, password reset, alerts) on our behalf.
• Google Sign-In — if you choose to log in with Google, Google shares your verified email address with us to create your session.
• Market and news data providers (e.g. Yahoo Finance, Google News) — we query these for public market data and headlines; no personal data about you is sent to them.

4. Cookies

We use a single functional session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

5. Data Retention

We retain account and portfolio data for as long as your account is active. Daily market scan history is retained for a limited number of days for product features like score trends.

6. Data Security

Passwords are hashed with PBKDF2-SHA256 and a unique salt per account — we never store your password in plain text. Traffic to the Service is encrypted in transit.

7. Your Rights

You can update your preferences and password anytime from Settings. To request deletion of your account and associated data, email us and we will process the request.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at individuals under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above when changes are made.
